Smith Street Medical Centre is a private billing practice and does not routinely bulk bill standard consultations.
Patients holding a Pension or Healthcare Card may be eligible for a discounted fee. Billing is determined at the discretion of each individual doctor. If you are experiencing financial hardship, we encourage you to discuss your circumstances directly with your doctor. Please note that Saturday and after-hours appointments incur a higher fee.
We’re open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The clinic is closed on Sundays.

Yes. For medical help in the Hunter NSW outside our regular hours, you can contact
GP Access After Hours at 1300 130 147.
Appointments cancelled within two hours, or with no notice will attract a DNA fee of
$60.
Yes, Smith Street Medical is a mixed billing practice. We bulk bill children under 12
and pension card holders, with a Medicare card on weekdays.
Bulk billing excludes procedures. Standard consultation fees apply to all other patients.
